Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) with at least 10 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including 2 years in a leadership role. A valid driver's license is necessary for this role. Preferred Qualifications:Experience with CalTrans CM/GC as a Resident Engineer. Experience in large infrastructure projects, specifically in road and bridge construction. Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of California is preferred.

AECOM is looking for an experienced Senior Manager of Construction Engineering to join our team in Oakland, CA.

Role Overview:

  • Guide and mentor employees while adhering to established policies.

  • Develop and implement procedures that impact the organization effectively.

  • Address a variety of complex issues requiring insightful analysis and an understanding of current business trends.

  • Serve as an advisor to subordinates to ensure project schedules are met and technical issues are resolved efficiently.

  • Possess budget management responsibilities.

  • Recognize that poor decision-making or failure to meet objectives may lead to increased costs and affect the organization’s short-term goals.

  • Oversee project administration throughout the construction cycle, focusing on technical, financial, and client satisfaction aspects.

  • Accountable for the planning, design, and management of construction activities while coordinating personnel daily.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct roadway construction inspections, quantity calculations, and ensure compliance with project specifications.

  • Identify and address potential issues related to construction projects.

  • Provide timely engineering solutions for challenges that arise.

  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations to protect public and workforce during construction activities.

  • Prepare documentation, including quantity calculations, records, reports, and correspondence relevant to construction efforts.

  • Assist in creating final As-Built plans and reports upon project completion.

  • Manage all required office engineering tasks such as project file organization and processing progress payments.

  • Oversee compliance monitoring of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and Best Management Practices (BMP).
