As a Senior Legal Counsel at NCS, you will be instrumental in delivering strategic and pragmatic legal support across various pivotal areas. This position allows you to shape high-stakes projects, offer expert counsel, and foster NCS’s growth by integrating legal solutions with business goals while effectively managing associated risks.
Your role will involve advising Business Leaders, being recognized by clients for your expertise in both substantive law and business insights, while performing key responsibilities in a timely and organized manner, as outlined below:
1. Legal Advisory and Analysis
- Delivering insightful and practical legal guidance on an extensive array of issues, including contentious and non-contentious matters, commercial transactions, corporate law, procurement, employment law, insurance, and intellectual property.
- Identifying complex legal challenges related to assigned topics, exploring alternative options, and implementing effective resolutions.
- Efficiently communicating intricate legal matters to a business audience, often in innovative or ambiguous contexts.
- Staying updated on legal changes.
2. Business Support and Strategy
- Facilitating the achievement of business goals by providing sound legal advice that judiciously balances growth opportunities with legal risks.
- Championing a position while fostering a collaborative and open-minded dialogue.
- Possessing deep knowledge of NCS's technology operations and understanding their broader business implications.
- Recognized by Business Leaders for your dual expertise in substantive law and business advice.
3. Contracts and Negotiations
- Responding to RFPs, contracts, tenders, and vendor agreements concerning hardware, software, services, and hybrid solutions.
- Independently negotiating with customers, suppliers, or government entities on strategically vital matters affecting NCS’s operations.
- Preparing applications for exception approvals under the NCS contract policy.
- Supporting contractual negotiations across the region.
4. Tools, Processes, and Knowledge Management
- Assisting in mapping existing templates, legal scenarios, and knowledge bases (e.g., templates, FAQs, Risk Assessments), along with revising templates and developing resources for regional businesses and the Legal department.
- Implementing a document review process and a template database while training the business on optimal use of legal resources.
- Creating scalable tools and resources for regional legal support of contracts, including training on processes and systems.
