Join Labella Associates as a Senior Gas Project Engineer in a hybrid work environment, serving clients across Central NY, Western NY, and Northwestern PA. We seek candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields with substantial experience. In this consulting role, you will support our utility clients on a variety of projects, including main and service replacements, system enhancements, pressure upgrades, and facility design. Your expertise will also contribute to compliance activities, cathodic protection design, and integrity projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct preliminary field work, carrying approximately 10 lbs. during the workday, with fieldwork expected to account for 5-10% of your annual workload.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure client objectives are met.
  • Create high-quality basemap and construction drawings for client, municipal, and regulatory agency review using AutoCAD, including details, BOM, material specifications, and operational manual development.
  • Develop energization and de-energization procedures.
  • Estimate contractor and construction costs.
  • Perform alternative analyses and detailed risk assessments.
  • Conduct code and compliance reviews, gap analyses, and standard audits.
  • Oversee DIMP and TIMP plan development, audits, and improvements.
  • Utilize SAP Work Management System for data entry to support project work.
  • Apply for municipal highway and right-of-way permits.
  • Support procurement activities and evaluate bid submissions.
  • Engage in pre-construction and pre-bid meetings, and coordinate site visits.
  • Work with landowners to secure right-of-way/easement as needed.
  • Create as-built records from inspectors’ field notes.
  • Mentor and train junior staff, setting and monitoring their goals and progress.
  • Assist with marketing, business development, and standard operating procedure development.
