About the job
arxlight-ai develops advanced drones with a focus on security and safety, combining hardware and software to deliver UAV systems built for challenging scenarios. The company operates as a technology startup, aiming to protect lives in demanding environments.
Role overview
The Senior Flight Software & GNC Engineer designs, develops, and implements algorithms that guide drones through complex environments. This role connects flight physics with real-world software, ensuring both stability and performance across all flight conditions.
What you will do
- Flight Dynamics Modeling: Build and refine six-degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) simulations to predict UAV behavior.
- Control Law Design: Develop, tune, and test flight control laws using both classical (PID, Root Locus, Bode) and modern (LQR/LQG, H-infinity, State-Space) methods.
- Navigation and Estimation: Apply sensor fusion techniques, such as Extended Kalman Filters, to achieve accurate state estimation using IMU, GPS, and star tracker data.
- Guidance Algorithms: Create algorithms for trajectory generation and path planning during autonomous drone operations.
- Performance Analysis: Run Monte Carlo simulations and perform linear stability analysis to validate system reliability.
- Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL): Support integration of GNC software with flight hardware and sensors.
