About the job
Archer Aviation Inc., located in San Jose, California, is revolutionizing the aerospace industry with our all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. Our mission is to enhance sustainable air mobility by designing, manufacturing, and operating a state-of-the-art aircraft capable of carrying four passengers while ensuring minimal noise output.
At Archer, we aspire to achieve remarkable heights, tackling challenging problems while fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace that drives innovation and collective success. We are committed to creating an equitable environment that values our differences and supports every team member.
What You’ll Do
- Execute Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA) and margin analysis on critical control and measurement circuits, including microcontrollers, resolver interfaces, PMICs, power trees, voltage/current sensors, and digital communication protocols (CAN, SPI, etc.).
- Conduct circuit simulations using SPICE and MATLAB to evaluate designs under varying component tolerances, temperature extremes, and voltage fluctuations.
- Lead Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) for control and sensor boards, collaborating with Safety and Reliability teams to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Analyze the impact of single-event upsets and latch-ups on essential system functionalities.
- Perform electrical stress analysis and component derating assessments.
- Assist the design team with analytical validation of power management architectures, sensor interfaces, and MCU-based control circuits.
- Work closely with hardware, controls, firmware, safety, and reliability teams to ensure compliance with aerospace performance and certification standards.
- Generate technical documentation and analysis reports to support design reviews and adhere to DO-254/DO-160 compliance.
