Senior Electronics Component Engineer

As a Senior Electronics Component Engineer at Astranis, you will be instrumental in selecting high-quality, reliable, and sourceable EEE parts and components for our satellite systems. This role demands a thorough understanding of part construction, the ability to identify potential quality and reliability risks, and the expertise to define and implement essential screening tests to mitigate these risks efficiently.

Role Responsibilities
  • Analyze part construction to uncover quality and reliability risks, ensuring all components meet mission-critical standards.
  • Collaborate closely with design engineers to facilitate component selection during the design phase, ensuring compliance with Astranis’s rigorous standards.
  • Plan, execute, and oversee component-level screening and qualification testing.
  • Review bills of materials for new designs to confirm the use of approved flight parts.
  • Manage component supplier part change notifications and initiate appropriate responses to supplier PCNs.
  • Conduct tear-downs on critical components to evaluate part quality and reliability.
  • Work with supply chain, design, and manufacturing teams to resolve component-related sourcing challenges.
  • Maintain the Astranis approved parts list in PLM to ensure accurate information is available to engineering and manufacturing teams.
