About the job
About Us:
At Voyant Photonics, we are revolutionizing machine perception through our innovative LiDAR devices, which are compact enough to fit in your palm yet powerful enough to deliver precise measurements of range, velocity, and reflectivity.
Utilizing advanced silicon photonic chips that are smaller than your fingertip, we provide sensors that combine groundbreaking performance with affordability, enabling seamless integration into various systems.
Our technology challenges the norms of traditional, bulky, and expensive LiDAR systems, thus making high-precision sensing widely accessible for applications in robotics, autonomous vehicles, drones, and industrial automation. With Voyant, the future of machine perception is here, allowing machines to see, understand, and navigate their environments like never before.
The Opportunity:
As a rapidly growing company, we seek talented engineers eager to innovate, solve complex challenges, and contribute to foundational technologies. Join our mission-driven team at the forefront of product design, silicon photonics, and machine perception.
We are in search of a Senior Electrical Engineer who excels in dynamic, collaborative settings and possesses extensive experience in PCB design, system bring-up, and cross-functional integration. You will be pivotal in designing and validating printed circuit boards that unite high-speed digital, low-noise analog, power distribution, and custom photonic interfaces, forming the backbone of our next-generation LiDAR systems.
Your Responsibilities:
Lead board-level development: Design complex mixed-signal, multi-layer PCBs that incorporate ADCs, microcontrollers, FPGAs, power regulators, and custom analog interfaces. Oversee schematics, layout collaboration, BOM creation, and bring-up processes.
Drive system integration: Collaborate closely with photonics, mechanical, and embedded software teams to ensure seamless alignment across hardware interfaces, physical constraints, and thermal/power management.
Hands-on bring-up and validation: Execute functional testing, troubleshoot board-level issues, and characterize performance utilizing oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, and signal generators.
Manage product constraints: Navigate trade-offs concerning size, power, thermal, EMI, and manufacturability within intricate, space-constrained designs.
