What You Will Do
This senior data science role focuses on improving the safety and well-being of Airbnb’s users through algorithmic and data-driven solutions. The position calls for a "full-stack" data scientist with a broad methodological skillset, ready to lead high-impact projects such as:
- Raising identity verification standards using biometrics, NFC technology, and integrations with Apple and Google services.
- Building advanced statistical models to detect identity fraud, including computer vision models for altered images and large language models (LLMs) to evaluate suspicious account features.
- Automating and improving human-in-the-loop machine learning processes to classify fraud cases and generate training labels.
- Deploying real-time anomaly detection systems to quickly spot emerging threats across regions and platforms.
- Designing intelligent sampling strategies to estimate rare event rates and track critical metrics.
