The Staff Data Scientist Role

We are on the lookout for a Staff Product Data Scientist to become an integral part of our Data & Insights team. This role will spearhead the strategy, development, and implementation of advanced analytics and machine learning solutions that drive data intelligence for Okta’s Product Management teams, revealing actionable insights into customer behavior, product usage, and growth opportunities to shape our product development strategy. You will outline the long-term roadmap for data science while collaborating closely with Okta’s diverse Product Management teams and executive leadership.

Your Responsibilities Include

  • Strategic Product Influence: Work closely with Product Managers and leadership to deliver insights that will shape product strategy and roadmaps, ensuring that decisions are data-driven.
  • Advanced Analytics and Modeling: Design and implement statistical and machine learning models (e.g., predicting churn, lifetime value, feature adoption) to anticipate user behavior and identify growth opportunities.
  • Insight Generation: Conduct extensive exploratory analyses on large and complex datasets to identify key drivers of user engagement and uncover opportunities for significant product enhancements.
  • Collaboration with Data Ecosystem: Partner with data engineering, analytics engineering, and data analysts to refine and enhance the data ecosystem.
