About the job

As a Senior Consultant in Commercial Management, you will spearhead and oversee post-contract management for a diverse portfolio of contracts. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, mitigating risks, and delivering maximum value in alignment with strategic objectives.

This position serves as a key liaison among the legal, sales, delivery, procurement, and finance teams, ensuring that business goals are achieved while minimizing legal and contractual risks. You will work closely with both the Legal and sales departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead comprehensive contract management initiatives, encompassing post-award governance, variation management, and the development of Statements of Work for governance endorsement.
  • Act as the primary commercial contact for internal stakeholders in delivery, sales, procurement, and finance, ensuring cohesive execution of contractual responsibilities.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage commercial and contractual risks throughout the contract lifecycle, escalating issues as required and maintaining current risk registers.
  • Effectively manage and resolve contract disputes, delays, and relief events in a timely manner, engaging the Legal team at the appropriate juncture.
  • Ensure thorough review and approval of all contractual documents, including changes, extensions, relief notices, and proposals, in accordance with established requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Legal team early in new contract negotiations or extensions to define negotiation strategies and pinpoint key legal and commercial considerations.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance standard templates for Statements of Work, change orders, and other commercial agreements.
  • Provide required contractual reporting, actively participate in customer and internal governance meetings, and maintain precise contract records and documentation.
  • Monitor supplier and customer performance relative to contractual obligations, driving compliance and identifying areas for improvement or value recovery.
  • Assist in routine contract management functions across the broader team, offering guidance and mentorship to junior members of the Contract Management team.
  • Act consistently in accordance with Legal guidance and internal governance policies.
