Why This Role is EssentialThe OHS Officer plays a vital role in overseeing daily safety operations at the STP by ensuring adherence to safe work practices, monitoring compliance, conducting thorough field inspections, and supporting training, permit systems, and incident reporting. This position focuses on the execution of established safety protocols rather than managerial duties.Your Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain a prominent presence in operational areas during maintenance and routine activities, actively ensuring compliance with safety regulations, Life Saving Rules, and site procedures, and intervening immediately in unsafe situations, including halting work when necessary.Ensure that Permit-to-Work (PTW) and Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) protocols are accurately applied prior to and during tasks, verify isolation points and tagging, coordinate with supervisors, and promptly escalate any identified gaps.Carry out regular safety inspections and OHS observations in areas such as MCC rooms, pump stations, sludge handling zones, confined spaces, and chemical areas.
