About This Position
We are seeking experienced Staff+ Android Engineers with diverse backgrounds in the Android ecosystem, particularly those specializing in performance optimization, continuous integration (CI), and enhancing AI developer productivity. Whether your expertise lies in UI frameworks, automated testing, or other areas, your contributions will lead to reduced friction, lower complexity, fewer regressions, and enhanced performance.

We are hiring in San Francisco, New York, and Seattle, with consideration for remote candidates.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance core Kotlin frameworks utilized across various applications and platforms (including caching, state management, observability, navigation, and component systems).
- Optimize application performance (startup time, responsiveness, memory usage, battery life) through profiling, monitoring, and architectural enhancements.
- Boost reliability by minimizing crashes, refining error handling, and improving the release process.
- Work closely with product engineering teams to understand and address pain points and emerging infrastructure requirements.
- Create internal tools and automation (CI, testing frameworks, Codex agent skills, etc.) to enhance engineering efficiency.
- Simplify real-world constraints into user-friendly abstractions: intuitive APIs, enforceable contracts, and safe defaults.
You Will Excel If You:
- Possess strong expertise in Android development (Kotlin, modern architectural patterns, Jetpack).
- Thrive on tackling platform challenges: frameworks, architecture, performance, or developing tools that empower fellow engineers.
- Take initiative by identifying risks and opportunities, driving projects to completion, and adapting swiftly to changes.
- Value measurement: implement instrumentation, define metrics, conduct experiments, and iterate based on data.
