Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA designation or in progress.3+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally a mix of public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and industry experience, particularly within startups transitioning to public companies. Strong understanding of U. S. GAAP and SOX compliance. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close processes is highly desirable. Experience in preparing for financial audits is a significant advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, along with strong analytical and organizational capabilities. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, coupled with a keen attention to detail. Strong problem-solving skills; project management experience is a plus, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Join Scale AI as a Senior Accountant, where you will play a vital role in our expanding accounting team. You will be responsible for managing daily corporate accounting tasks, facilitating the month-end close process, and assisting in the implementation of robust systems and processes to foster our growth. The ideal candidate will excel in a start-up setting, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail alongside exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities. You will have a proven track record of forging scalable relationships across functions and driving process enhancements.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Execute journal entries and oversee daily corporate accounting functions while supporting the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with U. S. GAAP.
  • Enhance balance sheet account reconciliation workpapers, including reviewing and refining historical reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting and Finance teams on metrics, flux analysis, forecasts, and projections, contributing to the preparation of the monthly reporting package.
  • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits and facilitate their successful completion.
  • Support the adoption of new systems and processes to streamline the closing process and accommodate the company's growth.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance efficiency and shorten the close timeline.
  • Develop, maintain, and refine internal controls related to your assigned areas.
