Bobyard is hiring a Sales Engineer in San Francisco to lead the technical side of the sales process. This position shapes how Bobyard connects with customers in a range of trade sectors. The Sales Engineer manages discovery calls, builds and delivers tailored demos, runs proof of value projects, and helps secure technical sign-off for deals.
This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution. It calls for building custom demonstrations, translating complex workflows into clear business value, and working closely with Account Executives to close important deals. Success in this position means blending technical skill with a strong sales sense to improve pipeline quality, speed up deal cycles, and build trust with customers across the trades Bobyard serves.
What you will do
- Create and deliver custom demos for complex, high-value contracts in Bobyard’s trade markets.
- Support Account Executives on strategic deals, offering technical expertise, guiding buying committees, and helping advance deals with decision-makers.
- Design and run Proof of Value projects, set clear success criteria, and present results that demonstrate technical and business impact.
- Act as the main technical resource throughout the sales cycle, addressing objections and showing contractors and trade businesses how Bobyard fits into their workflows.
- Gather and share product feedback from the field, collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to improve the platform and integrations.
- Develop the sales playbook by creating reusable demo assets, trade-specific resources, and documentation to help the sales team scale.
Requirements
- 2-4 years in a customer-facing technical role such as Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Technical Consulting.
- Ability to quickly learn new products and adapt across different trade sectors.
- Comfortable leading customer conversations, whiteboarding, demoing, and handling objections in real time.
- Strong sales focus, always working toward closing deals and growing revenue.
- Comfortable in environments where things move quickly and processes are still forming.
- Collaborative mindset, with experience working alongside Account Executives, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering teams.
- Experience at an early-stage startup is a strong plus.
