About the job
At Instructure, we are passionate about empowering individuals to thrive in their educational and professional journeys. Our mission is to enhance this potential by developing user-friendly products that facilitate learning, foster meaningful connections, and motivate individuals to advance in their careers.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Sales Development Representative (SDR) to bolster our global go-to-market initiatives through a combination of inbound lead engagement and proactive outbound prospecting. This role is tailored for specific languages and regions, partnering you with a Drive Team (Sales Representative + Customer Success Manager) to swiftly respond to inbound inquiries while consistently generating new sales opportunities through targeted outbound efforts.
As an SDR at Instructure, you will often be the first point of contact for potential customers, making it essential to possess strong communication skills and the ability to tell compelling stories. You will work to understand each customer’s unique situation, identify their challenges, and align Instructure’s solutions with their objectives. Exceptional SDRs are those who provide value through insightful discovery and personalized outreach, rather than merely focusing on activity metrics.
Responsibilities
Respond to inbound leads promptly, qualify interest, and arrange high-quality meetings.
Engage in regular outbound prospecting activities each week, irrespective of inbound lead volume. Ensure a positive buyer experience through effective communication, storytelling, and discovery-based discussions.
Conduct thorough research on accounts and personas to customize messaging that resonates within your target market.
Collaborate with your Drive Team to develop territory strategies, identify target accounts, and establish follow-up plans.
Generate qualified sales pipeline that is confirmed by the Sales Representative and transitioned into an active working pipeline.
Keep precise records of activities and pipeline status in Salesforce and other engagement tools.
Continuously refine outreach and qualification methods through coaching, testing, and market analysis.
Your Focus Area
This role will focus on a specific business area based on team requirements. Candidates may be aligned with segments such as:
K-12
In this segment, you will assist K-12 districts and schools by identifying instructional and operational needs, utilizing effective discovery and storytelling techniques to connect Instructure’s solutions to enhanced teaching and learning outcomes.
Higher Education
Support higher education institutions in achieving their strategic goals through tailored outreach and insight-driven engagement.
