In your role as a Robotics Engineer Intern at IKH, you will engage with ROS1/ROS2, develop simulation environments, integrate sensors, and conduct hands-on testing for outdoor ground robots and magnetic climbing robots tailored to marine applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support software development efforts utilizing ROS1/ROS2
- Create tools and prototypes using Python and C++
- Contribute to Gazebo/Ignition simulation development, including sensors, plugins, and robot models
- Assist in the bring-up, calibration, and testing of ground robots and robotic crawlers
- Utilize launch files, topics, TFs, and various ROS tools
- Participate in version control processes via Git, and produce documentation and testing reports
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Robotics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (internship grant required)
- Proficient in C++ or Python programming languages
- Familiar with Linux operating systems and fundamental ROS concepts
- Passionate about mobile robotics, marine robotics, autonomy, and navigation technologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ROS1/ROS2 projects
- Familiarity with simulation tools such as Gazebo/Ignition
- Knowledge of odometry, LiDAR/camera sensors, or skid-steering wheeled robotic systems
