Join the innovative team at fauna-robotics as a Robotics Assembly Technician, where you'll be instrumental in the assembly, testing, and debugging of cutting-edge robotic systems. This hands-on position plays a vital role in our rapid prototyping, troubleshooting, and hardware validation processes, encompassing both mechanical and electrical assembly and testing.
Core Responsibilities
- Assemble robotic systems, subassemblies, actuators, and mechanical components in accordance with engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Execute precise mechanical assembly using both hand and power tools, presses, and fixtures.
- Assemble and route wiring harnesses, connectors, and sensors, ensuring proper strain relief and secure installation.
- Conduct light electrical assembly and basic soldering for connectors, harnesses, and small PCB subassemblies.
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues using basic lab equipment (multimeter, continuity tester, etc.).
- Adhere to established quality standards; inspect assemblies for fit, finish, and functional performance prior to integration.
- Utilize 3D printers for creating simple jigs, fixtures, and mounting hardware to aid assembly tasks.
- Maintain organized workspaces, tools, and inventory for mechanical and electrical components.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of work instructions and process documentation.
- Propose and assist in implementing process improvements to enhance assembly efficiency and consistency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical or electromechanical assembly within manufacturing, robotics, aerospace, or automotive sectors.
- Education: Associate’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related discipline, or equivalent military/work experience.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions.
- Skilled in using standard hand tools, torque tools, and basic fabrication equipment.
- Experienced in assembling and routing wiring harnesses for electro-mechanical systems.
- Comfortable performing basic soldering (both through-hole and surface mount) for connectors and electronic components.
