About the job

Resource Innovations is on the lookout for a skilled Residential Field Technician to join our team in Indiana and assist in executing the Inflation Reduction Act Program. In this pivotal role, you will conduct top-tier in-home Energy Efficiency audits, ensuring adherence to quality standards in our HOMES and HEAR initiatives.

This program offers complimentary home energy audits, helping customers pinpoint ways to minimize energy consumption and utility expenses through upgrades like heat pumps, electric appliances, and insulation. By utilizing cutting-edge software tools, expert guidance, and covering a substantial part of project costs while providing additional rebates for significant energy savings, we empower homeowners to enhance their comfort, efficiency, and overall energy performance.

Your role will position you as a customer-centric field technician, well-versed in BPI standards and certifications. Your main task will involve conducting in-home audits and visual inspections of installed energy-efficient measures, covering critical areas such as foundations, basements, crawlspaces, and mechanical systems to ensure correct installation and operation. Depending on program demands, you may also lend support to the wider field auditing team.

As an inspector, you will accurately document and verify installed equipment, including taking photographs of installations and ensuring systems are functioning as intended. Should inspections reveal any deficiencies or non-compliance, you will collaborate closely with the program team to identify, monitor, and validate corrective actions.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in energy auditing, building science, home inspections, or related fields, along with established connections in housing, rebate/incentive programs, and community development. Strong leadership abilities, team-building focus, customer service orientation, and familiarity with relevant standards and practices, particularly BPI certifications, are vital. Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills will set you apart.

Your oversight will encompass residential weatherization, HVAC, and water heating installation inspections, as you evaluate QA/QC findings to uphold program integrity. Collaborating with partners to identify and implement effective solutions based on audit findings and client feedback will be essential to your success. Additionally, you will work cross-functionally with various teams to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of Resource Innovations’ program solutions.
