The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing large-scale construction and transit facility rehabilitation projects, including the construction of a new Bus Fuel Services Building, Fare Retrieval Building, Bus Cleaning Building, CNG Compressor Station, and Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant. Experience in renovating interior and exterior Administrative and HVAC Buildings and remediating subsurface areas with known or suspected environmental impacts is also desired. Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. At least 5 years of progressive experience in the construction and administration of transit facility renovation projects. A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Georgia is preferred. Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the Owner’s Agent for assigned contracts.
  • Coordinate contract activities with office and field engineers, ensuring compliance with all materials, equipment, and construction according to contract plans and specifications.
  • Interpret engineering drawings for field personnel as necessary.
  • Develop comprehensive inspection records for job history, including as-built conditions.
  • Initiate requests for exploratory drilling, material testing, and survey services.
  • Prepare cost estimates related to change orders.
  • Generate construction progress reports and evaluations of field engineering and inspection personnel for the Construction Manager.
  • Assist in negotiating contract change orders and claims related to assigned contracts.
  • Validate contractor progress pay applications as required.
  • Ensure that the contractor makes every effort to complete the contract on schedule.
  • Monitor the contractor’s adherence to all Federal, State, and local statutes regarding Labor, Safety, and Equal Employment Opportunity.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
