EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREDHigh School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial ammonia refrigeration. PREFERRED SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONSFormal training in ammonia refrigeration; RETA CARO/CIRO Certification preferred. HAZMAT/HAZWOPER 40-hour training and related experience. Knowledge of chemical safety related to anhydrous ammonia and ability to interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Experience with emergency response equipment and protocols.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Refrigeration Maintenance Technician at Link Snacks, you will play a crucial role in the operation and upkeep of our ammonia refrigeration system and its ancillary equipment. Collaborating closely with managers and fellow technicians, you will ensure the efficient delivery of refrigeration utilities to our plant.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate and maintain various refrigeration equipment, including compressors, evaporators, valves, and heat exchangers.

  • Perform routine maintenance using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in compliance with PSM programs and industry standards.

  • Manage tools required for maintenance tasks, ensuring they are well-organized and maintained.

  • Document and maintain records related to maintenance, incidents, and compliance logs.

  • Conduct daily inspections of the ammonia refrigeration system.

  • Utilize schematics and technical drawings in the execution of maintenance duties.

  • Perform basic chemistry tests related to the refrigeration system.

  • Monitor system performance and make necessary adjustments to optimize operations.

  • Follow safety protocols when charging or discharging the refrigeration system with anhydrous ammonia.

  • Participate in emergency response drills and be an active member of the PSM and emergency response teams.

  • Train team members on refrigeration systems and best maintenance practices.
