The Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) plays a pivotal role in conducting diverse tests on robotic systems to guarantee product quality, performance, and reliability. This position is vital to the advancement of cutting-edge robotic fulfillment and sorting systems.
- Conduct functionality and performance tests on robotic manipulation workcells as part of comprehensive solutions.
- Evaluate the operation of robotic workcells as standalone products as well as their interaction and integration with the robot fleet, gantry workcells, and other microservices, including recovering from mechanical and/or software faults.
- Diagnose hardware/software/firmware issues, articulate failures in well-documented defects, and maintain a stable test environment.
- Deploy, configure, and sustain robotic and automated manipulation workcells, adapting to evolving test scenarios with necessary software, firmware, and hardware updates.
- Participate in a combination of physical and virtual testing environments, which may require physical activities such as walking, bending, squatting, lifting, and pushing. Prepare test data both virtually through software tools and physically using package sets, totes, and carts.
- Communicate regular updates to the QA Lead/Manager and development teams, promptly highlighting risks or roadblocks. Quick critical thinking to assess situations and outline next steps is essential, along with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Gather and analyze data and metrics during or after testing (including logs, dashboards, databases, and other web tools) and document findings.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, eager to learn about the intricate systems under evaluation (environment configuration, test plan creation, execution, and validation of processes). Comfortable navigating ambiguity and complex environments.
