Role Overview: Propulsion Test Engineer

The Propulsion Test Engineer will play a central role in calibrating and testing advanced small engine systems for airborne defense platforms. This work ensures propulsion systems meet strict standards for performance, reliability, and manufacturability. The position supports the development and validation of high-performance engines that power Mach Industries’ autonomous defense solutions.

At Mach Propulsion, the team is reimagining small turbine engines for high-volume, scalable, and modular production. The Propulsion Test Engineer will help shape a new approach to propulsion, working with automated manufacturing processes to deliver effective engines at scale. Collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams is a core part of the job, with a focus on building systems that perform reliably in demanding mission scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement test systems and infrastructure, including test cells and instrumentation packages.
  • Develop precise control systems for test cells to ensure accurate and high-quality data reporting.
  • Execute verification and validation test plans for engines and related systems.
  • Support assembly, integration, and testing of initial articles and first flight assets.
  • Collaborate with propulsion design, systems integration, and manufacturing teams to ensure test results guide system improvements.
  • Analyze test data to confirm engine performance and provide insights for future development.
