Qualifications

Qualifications:Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in California. Bachelor's degree from an accredited BVNPT institution is required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Education, or Administration is preferred. A minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Registered Nurse. At least one (1) year of teaching or clinical supervision experience within the last five (5) years in a state-approved vocational or registered nursing program, or three (3) years in nursing administration or nursing education within the last five (5) years. Completion of relevant coursework in administration, teaching, and curriculum development from an accredited institution.

Stanbridge University is on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Program Director to spearhead our Vocational Nursing (VN) Program. In this pivotal role, you will function as the chief academic and operational leader, accountable for enhancing program performance, facilitating faculty effectiveness, and optimizing student success.

Your mission will be to cultivate the next generation of licensed vocational nurses through innovative educational methodologies, a student-centered approach, and robust faculty mentorship. Your success will be gauged through program quality, regulatory adherence, and key student metrics, including retention rates, completion rates, and licensure pass rates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the strategic planning, execution, assessment, and ongoing enhancement of the Vocational Nursing program.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations set forth by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) and other accrediting bodies.
  • Recruit, guide, mentor, and assess program faculty to guarantee effective teaching and curriculum alignment.
  • Lead the design, revision, and evaluation of the curriculum to ensure it meets industry standards and licensing prerequisites.
  • Analyze and enhance student performance indicators (retention, completion, and licensure pass rates) by implementing data-driven strategies.
  • Secure quality clinical placements in cooperation with clinical partners and the clinical coordination team.
  • Work alongside university leadership on program budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Prepare and submit necessary documentation for BVNPT and accreditation bodies; oversee readiness for site visits and compliance initiatives.
  • Represent the program at professional gatherings, conferences, and with clinical collaborators to bolster partnerships and visibility.
