About the job

The Production Scheduler is integral in crafting, managing, and enhancing daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules within the inks and coatings manufacturing sector. This position aligns the site-level capacity with demand plans, promoting efficient inventory turnover, supporting high service levels, and minimizing overall manufacturing costs. Collaboration with Operations, Procurement, Quality, and Corporate Supply Chain is essential to ensure resources, materials, and production schedules are harmonized for optimal efficiency. This role is pivotal in advancing INX’s digital planning initiatives, utilizing data and technology to enhance forecast accuracy, schedule compliance, and operational effectiveness.

  • Transform the corporate master schedule into actionable daily, weekly, and monthly production plans that effectively balance demand, plant capacity, equipment uptime, and labor availability.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Demand Planning to update Planned Independent Requirements (PIRs) monthly, ensuring finished goods demand accuracy and clear MRP signals.
  • Implement and manage MRP planning to convert demand into production/process orders and facilitate precise raw-material purchase requisitions.
  • Proactively communicate changes in material requirements and coordinate with Material Management, Procurement, Sales, and Production to guarantee timely resource availability.
  • Monitor schedule adherence, capacity utilization, and production performance; identify bottlenecks, and initiate corrective actions to foster continuous improvement.
  • Oversee finished goods, WIP, and external warehouse inventory to align with service levels, inventory turnover, and working capital objectives; maintain planning parameters, safety stock, lead times, and master data integrity in SAP.
  • Work with Production and Lab teams to enhance batching processes, improve work-off utilization, and minimize waste and excess inventory costs.
  • Identify risks early (such as material shortages or resource constraints) and lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts to uphold customer service and production commitments.
  • Report essential planning KPIs (schedule adherence, service level, inventory turns, plan vs. actual) to site and corporate planning teams to empower data-driven decision-making.
  • Assist in the SAP S/4HANA planning transformation and the continuous enhancement of scheduling and inventory management best practices.
