Role Overview
ID.me seeks a Principal Technical Lead Manager (TLM) to lead engineering for Workforce Solutions in Mountain View, California. This team builds systems for employment verification, employer onboarding, and compliance integrations, helping millions of Americans prove employment and access benefits. The position sits within the Customer Domains organization and combines technical leadership with people management for a core B2B area.
The Workforce team develops the platform that connects ID.me with enterprise HR systems, payroll providers, government agencies, and benefits administrators. This work enables employees to show job status, wage history, and benefit eligibility, making processes like mortgage applications, unemployment claims, and public benefits onboarding smoother. The role requires careful attention to privacy and compliance, working at the intersection of identity, HR technology, and regulatory requirements.
As Principal TLM, responsibilities include shaping the technical architecture of the Workforce platform and supporting the engineering team’s growth and effectiveness. The role involves close collaboration with Product, Legal, Security, and enterprise partners to deliver on a roadmap that balances speed with compliance. Candidates should bring deep experience with backend systems, a strong track record of leading high-performing teams, and enthusiasm for building new solutions.
