Join our vibrant and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Principal Civil Engineer in one of our rapidly expanding offices in Scotland, whether in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, or Perth, while taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model.

At AECOM, we are at the cutting edge of innovation, executing a remarkable portfolio of water programs and projects through enduring partnerships with key clients. Recently, AECOM has been chosen as a preferred bidder for one of the two Primary Designers for Scottish Water’s SR27 Enterprise. This transformative, multi-billion-pound initiative is the largest project ever undertaken by Scottish Water and will revolutionize Scotland’s water and wastewater infrastructure from 2027 to 2033 (with the possibility of extending for an additional 6 years).

AECOM will play a crucial role in this groundbreaking delivery model, fostering design excellence at scale and collaborating with Scottish Water and our Enterprise Partners to achieve outcomes that provide value for customers in Scotland and strive for net-zero goals. Your Responsibilities:

  1. Project Leadership
    • Guide project teams in delivering high-caliber outcomes that fulfill client expectations.
    • Oversee design scope to ensure projects are completed within budget and schedule constraints.
  2. Technical Expertise
    • Exhibit a robust technical understanding and stay informed about current industry practices and innovations.
    • Lead the quality assurance process for project deliverables, ensuring adherence to standards and client requirements.
  3. Team Development
    • Mentor and develop junior staff, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their full potential.
    • Encourage a collaborative and supportive work environment that promotes professional growth.
  4. Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
    • Serve as a strong communicator, effectively engaging with various project stakeholders, including clients, team members, and external partners.
  5. Health & Safety Leadership
    • Maintain a solid knowledge of current health and safety legislation.
