Exceptional communication and leadership skills, capable of engaging with clients, architects, M&E contractors, and senior stakeholders. Familiarity with open communication standards, BMS trends, and cutting-edge smart building solutions. Qualifications: HNC or degree in building services, electrical engineering, or computer science; BMS experience with Trend, Tridium, or Niagara; proficient in cause & effect matrices, specifications, and commissioning. Chartered status or actively pursuing it, along with security clearance (or willingness to obtain).

Become a pivotal member of AECOM’s Building Engineering Division as a Principal BMS Engineer. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, execution, and enhancement of building management systems across diverse sectors, ranging from office renovations and mixed-use developments to industrial sites, government buildings, and commercial enterprises. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, commissioning, and implementation of BMS systems, ensuring alignment with client specifications, regulatory standards, and sustainability objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including clients, architects, mechanical and electrical (M&E) teams, contractors, and senior leadership, to build strong partnerships and provide expert guidance.
  • Oversee complex projects from inception to completion: conducting feasibility studies, crafting specifications and point schedules, managing tenders, analyzing costs and bids, and reporting on progress.
  • Perform system surveys, assessments, and FAT/SAT testing, delivering comprehensive reports, recommendations, and training to clients for performance and efficiency optimization.
  • Drive business development initiatives, mentor and develop the BMS team, facilitate knowledge sharing, and contribute to advancements in smart building technologies.
  • Champion Safety, Health & Environmental (SH&E) best practices, resolving technical challenges while ensuring compliance and cultivating a safety-first culture.
  • Support the integration of mechanical, electrical, and control systems, leveraging expertise in open communication standards and advanced BMS technologies such as Trend, Tridium, and Niagara.
  • Engage in occasional travel to project sites and AECOM offices, balancing office-based tasks with flexible remote working arrangements.
