• Advanced degrees (BS/MS/PhD) in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related fields are required, with a preference for candidates holding a PhD or equivalent research experience.• A minimum of 5 years in AI/ML engineering, including at least 2 years in a principal engineer or lead architect capacity.• Proven track record of developing original AI systems that transitioned into marketable products, rather than merely implementing existing patterns.• In-depth knowledge of LLM training and fine-tuning, agentic system architecture, knowledge graph construction, and large-scale data modeling.• Ability to thrive in greenfield environments characterized by high ambiguity and ownership.• Strong portfolio of patents, published research, or successfully launched products that demonstrate clear proprietary differentiation.• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Role overview

The Principal AI Architect joins a senior engineering group in Silicon Valley, focusing on advanced AI research and product development. This role shapes the technical direction for Draup’s next-generation AI systems and infrastructure.

What you will do

  • Set the architectural vision for advanced AI systems, including agent architectures, reasoning frameworks, and proprietary model development.
  • Design and evaluate new AI capabilities such as predictive modeling, autonomous signal synthesis, and multi-modal intelligence to create valuable intellectual property.
  • Build and maintain the technical foundation: data architecture, model serving, agent orchestration, and inference systems aligned with a long-term product roadmap.
  • Analyze and incorporate emerging AI approaches, such as multi-agent reasoning and retrieval-augmented fine-tuning, ahead of broad industry adoption.
  • Develop engineering standards, lead architecture reviews, and oversee documentation practices to safeguard intellectual property within the team.
