Michels Power, Inc. seeks a Preconstruction Manager - Substation to join the team supporting electrical infrastructure projects across the United States. This full-time position is based in Neenah, WI and requires travel to various project sites. Michels Power, Inc. is known for building and modernizing transmission lines, substations, and distribution systems, as well as supporting Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy projects and restoring power after natural disasters.

What You Will Do

  • Promote and uphold a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers, ensuring compliance with company safety and environmental policies and regulations.
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate access, layout, and constructability for upcoming substation projects.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders throughout the preconstruction phase to identify project risks and develop effective construction methodologies, sequencing, and schedules.
  • Participate in estimating meetings, providing detailed input on labor, equipment, and production rates specific to high-voltage substation construction.
  • Support estimating teams by contributing insights on manpower, equipment needs, procurement strategies, outage planning, and temporary facilities for large-scale substation projects.
  • Work closely with Superintendents, General Foremen, and Foremen to plan work, crews, tools, and equipment, aiming for efficient execution and minimal mobilization time.
  • Coordinate with Project Engineers and Project Managers to align project scope, update schedules, and ensure readiness for project execution.
