Role Overview
The Platform Software Engineer joins a team responsible for building and maintaining backend services. Areas include payment processing, analytics, subscription management, new product development, text-to-speech features, and external API integrations. This role involves strategic thinking, technical skill, and a drive to improve user experience.
Speechify operates with a flat structure. Team members are encouraged to take initiative and deliver high-quality work. Strong communication and a focus on outcomes matter here.
What You Will Do
- Design, build, and maintain APIs, including the public TTS API and internal services for payment, subscriptions, authentication, and consumption tracking.
- Ensure backend APIs are scalable, high-performing, and easy to maintain.
- Contribute to B2B solutions by customizing and integrating backend services for enterprise clients.
- Work with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product goals and improve user experience.
Interview Process
The process includes several technical assessments, typically completed within one week.
Location
This is a fully remote role. Speechify is based in Orlando, FL, USA, but the team works from anywhere.
