Ebury is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join the team in Madrid. This hybrid role combines four days onsite with one day remote each week. The Payroll Specialist plays a central part in delivering accurate and compliant payroll for a global workforce of over 1,700 employees across more than 29 countries.
This position requires technical payroll knowledge and operational focus. Working closely with colleagues in Finance, HR, and external payroll providers, the Payroll Specialist helps ensure smooth payroll operations in a cross-functional environment.
Main responsibilities
- Process bi-monthly and monthly payrolls from start to finish within a small team.
- Analyze and document payroll control frameworks and country-specific procedures.
- Collaborate on projects with internal stakeholders and external payroll partners.
- Maintain compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies.
- Conduct reconciliations and audits of monthly payrolls.
- Stay current with local payroll regulations.
- Support Finance teams during month-end closing and reporting.
- Review payroll processes to find opportunities for greater efficiency and reliability.
- Address escalated and urgent payroll issues promptly.
