Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll OperationsServe as the primary internal owner for payroll activities in the UK, coordinating with ADP for accurate monthly payroll processing. Prepare, review, and submit payroll input files to ADP, covering starters, leavers, salary adjustments, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and corrections. Validate payroll outputs from ADP, reviewing calculations, variances, back pay, and reconciliations prior to final approval. Maintain payroll calendars, manage recalculations, and address payroll discrepancies and alerts. Payroll Changes & Employee LifecycleOversee payroll inputs for:New starters and leavers (including P45s and final payment). Salary modifications, promotions, department shifts, and manager changes. Adjustments to working hours, temporary contracts, and secondments. Leave types including maternity, paternity, shared parental leave, sick leave, jury service, and KIT days. Ensure the accurate capture of statutory pay (SMP, SPP, SSP) and pension impacts, implementing manual adjustments as necessary.

About the job

Mintel is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join the UK Accounts team in London. This part-time position is responsible for making sure payroll processes for UK staff are accurate and completed on schedule. The role replaces an existing team member and sits at the heart of payroll operations.

What you will do

  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Mintel’s external payroll provider (ADP) to process payroll accurately and on time
  • Oversee payroll, benefits, and statutory obligations, maintaining a strong focus on compliance and precision
  • Serve as the main contact for payroll-related questions and issues across the UK business
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and support operational efficiency
