Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate Packaging Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in supporting the upstream packaging design and feasibility initiatives, working closely with the Assistant Manager of Packaging Design & Innovation. You will play a pivotal role in transforming brand and consumer experience requirements into early-stage packaging concepts, ensuring that our designs align with our brand ethos and sustainability goals.
As a Packaging Engineer, you will engage in concept development, early supplier engagements, sustainability assessments, and facilitate cross-functional collaboration through the Design Lock process, enabling smooth transitions to the industrialization team. Success in this position will be measured by the development of meticulously documented, brand-consistent packaging concepts that are technically sound and clearly communicated for efficient scaling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of upstream packaging concepts, including feasibility inputs, supplier coordination, and sustainability considerations.
- Support the translation of brand strategy and consumer experiences into packaging concepts, including CMF (colour/material/finish) options and packaging architecture proposals.
- Help create and maintain design intent documentation, focusing on form language, ergonomics, usability, and consumer rituals.
- Contribute to concept libraries, benchmarks, rationale documentation, and competitive analyses.
- Collaborate with fragrance and beauty suppliers on concept co-development, including sample coordination and rapid prototyping.
- Prepare early-stage 2D drawings or basic 3D models to effectively communicate design intent.
