We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to lead and enhance our networking projects at ePro Inc., located in Painted Post, NY.
The position is non-exempt and follows a standard work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
Position Overview
As a Network Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for various network implementation and upgrade projects. Your role will involve the design and implementation of LAN, WAN, and wireless networks tailored to the Corning infrastructure.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and deploy LAN/WAN/Wireless LAN infrastructure across multiple Corning sites.
- Define, document, and enforce standards for the deployment and support of the network infrastructure.
- Create network design and configuration documentation, ensuring effective knowledge transfer to the Network Engineering and Operations teams.
- Implement and troubleshoot lightweight and autonomous wireless networks.
- Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot firewalls to isolate non-compliant devices.
- Collaborate with team members to complete complex switch and router installations.
- Develop comprehensive implementation and testing plans in line with change management protocols.
- Address customer requirements and ensure satisfaction with IT services.
- Conduct packet capture and analysis to establish network performance baselines and troubleshoot issues.
- Assist with complex cross-functional project and operational issues, determining root causes and developing solutions.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in LAN and Wireless LAN troubleshooting and design.
- Strong experience in WAN and Internet technologies.
- 5+ years of IT experience across multiple technology areas, with at least 1 year in a senior engineering role.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently or in virtual teams.
- Recognized as a subject matter expert in previous roles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient knowledge of switches, routers, firewalls, and associated protocols.
- Solid background in Cisco Networking.
- Strong focus on client satisfaction.
- Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented and process-driven.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Visio.
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Experience in large enterprise environments.
