The Portfolio Talent team is pivotal in this mission, providing essential support to founders and leadership teams on executive hiring, compensation strategies, organizational design, succession planning, board effectiveness, and leadership development.
The Role
We are on the lookout for a dynamic Network & Talent Associate to enhance the infrastructure, intelligence, and community that drives our Talent function forward.
In this role, you will empower our team to concentrate on senior advisory work and long-term strategic initiatives — such as the Balderton Bench and Wellbeing & Performance programs — by establishing robust systems, refining data integrity, amplifying network visibility, and aiding in executive search activities throughout our portfolio.
This position resides at the intersection of venture capital, executive talent, data management, and AI-enabled workflows. It is well-suited for a candidate who merges analytical precision with strong relational instincts and is enthusiastic about understanding how high-growth companies scale their leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Intelligence & Data Infrastructure
- Facilitate the high-quality capture, cleansing, and integration of talent data from various sources into our internal tools and databases.
- Manage executive search rosters, track placements, and oversee post-search NPS surveys.
- Compile and analyze portfolio company compensation data, maintaining structured datasets to bolster advisory efforts.
- Curate hiring priority lists across portfolio companies to expedite valuable introductions.
- Enhance visibility and connectivity within the network by surfacing top-rated candidates and identifying recurring executive profiles.
- Support reporting and analytics for internal stakeholders.
Executive Search & Sourcing Support
- Deliver impactful sourcing support for priority searches, particularly for pre-deal and early-stage opportunities, utilizing tools like The Swarm, Juicebox, Metaview, and Balderton Bench.
- Conduct referencing on frequently searched executives to cultivate institutional knowledge about high-potential leaders.
- Assist in calibrating talent markets to aid founder decision-making and the effective positioning of opportunities.
Automation, Tools & AI
- Collaborate closely with our internal product and operations teams to enhance automation and workflow efficiencies.
- Experiment with and implement AI-driven solutions to streamline research, sourcing, data capture, and reporting processes.
- Continuously assess how our internal tools can better serve founders and the Talent team.
