Educational and Experience Requirements:Completion of a two-year radiological technology program from an AMA-approved institution. Ability to perform initial (or as directed) competency on IV injections. Proficient in conducting all types of MR examinations, including those involving cardiac pacemakers, pediatric patients, and cases requiring anesthesia support. Required Licenses and Certifications:Certification from the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT). Current CPR BLS Certification.

The MRI Technologist I at Luminis Health performs MRI procedures for patients across all age groups. This role follows professional and departmental protocols to ensure quality imaging and patient safety at inpatient facilities in Annapolis, Bowie, and Lanham, MD.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct MRI scan sequences, verify patient demographics and technical data, and review image quality for accuracy.
  • Work as part of a specialized medical team to perform targeted MRI scans, prepare patients for specific procedures, and review relevant reports (such as pathology and surgical notes) to monitor patient progress and the accuracy of examinations.
  • Monitor patient conditions during procedures, provide first aid if needed, and assist physicians with emergencies or adverse reactions.
  • Collaborate with the Supervisor to suggest improvements, report concerns, and provide feedback to enhance patient care, technical quality, and clerical operations.
  • Track equipment performance, report any malfunctions to management, and document issues as required.
  • Support the clinical training of technologists and students when requested.
  • Deliver compassionate care to patients with physical or mental challenges.
  • Manage patient workflow effectively, with appropriate prioritization, including cases requiring MR sedation.
  • Follow all legal, regulatory, and policy requirements, including MRI safety protocols.
  • Perform a variety of MRI procedures, from routine to complex, while maintaining safety and quality standards and addressing individual patient needs.
