Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Android development, SELinux, embedded systems, and firmware interfaces. Strong familiarity with isolation technologies such as Arm TrustZone, secure monitor, or memory protection. Proficient in software development best practices, debugging, and performance optimization. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a global team environment.

Position: Mobile Security Engineer (Android)

Location: San Diego, CA

You will play a crucial role as a key member of our Portal team, focusing on the development of the core operating system for our next-generation platform, enhancing the PlayStation ecosystem. Your contributions will significantly impact mobile gaming and entertainment for millions of users globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and integrate firmware and frameworks across device teams to optimize collaboration and efficiency.
  • Lead the development of Digital Rights Management (DRM) and security solutions for mobile and media applications.
  • Launch Android on new hardware platforms.
  • Work closely with international teams of UI designers and product managers across the USA, Japan, and the UK to translate requirements into a secure device platform.
  • Represent the team in technical forums by sharing designs, knowledge, and insights with other Sony software development groups.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and devise innovative solutions to enhance customer satisfaction.
