Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited institution. PE or SE license in North Carolina (or willingness to obtain shortly).2-7+ years of experience as a forensic engineer. Knowledge of modern building codes and industry standards. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Willingness to travel and conduct site inspections. Valid Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications:Experience providing testimony as a designated expert witness (senior level). Background in engineering design, construction, or damage assessments. Physical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights. Capable of accessing and working on roofs, scaffolds, lifts, and in confined spaces. Physically able to climb, stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for extended periods. Able to work in various indoor and outdoor environments.

Join our dynamic Forensic Architecture & Engineering team as a mid to senior-level Forensic Civil Structural Engineer (PE or SE) and be part of a robust group dedicated to supporting our clients across the United States. Our engineers engage in comprehensive forensic investigations, offer expert consultation, and prepare technical papers while serving as expert witnesses. Areas of expertise encompass residential, commercial, and industrial structures, focusing on roofing, fenestration, foundations, and building envelopes. Additionally, we conduct hazard assessments, evaluate damage, assess design and construction defects, and perform premises liability evaluations. This role requires regular local and regional travel to project sites. We actively encourage participation in professional associations and societies to foster growth and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field observations, testing, and data collection.
  • Prepare detailed reports outlining observations, test results, research findings, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with building departments to determine necessary repair directives.
  • Research and develop technical publications.
  • Engage with peers and clients through presentations and meetings.
  • Participate in client-relations marketing efforts.
