Key Responsibilities:
- Review Invitation to Tender (ITT), technical specifications, scope of work, P&IDs, plot plans, layouts, and project drawings thoroughly.
- Identify the mechanical and piping scope boundaries, exclusions, and risks within tender documents.
- Prepare necessary tender clarifications and technical inquiries.
- Verify quantities against engineering drawings, isometrics, and specifications accurately.
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates for mechanical and piping installations, including:
- Equipment installation
- Piping fabrication and erection
- Valves and specialty items
- Structural and pipe supports
- Hydrotesting, flushing, and mechanical completion activities
- Calculate labor productivity, manpower requirements, and equipment resources.
- Create unit rates, cost build-ups, and construction cost models based on historical data and project needs.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors effectively.
- Maintain estimation databases, productivity norms, and cost benchmarks.
- Capture lessons learned and historical data to enhance future estimates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in EPC projects, specifically within the Oil & Gas, Refinery, or Petrochemical sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical equipment installation and piping fabrication/erection processes.
- Proven experience in cost estimation, quantity take-off, and BOQ preparation.
- Strong ability to read and interpret:
- Equipment Lists
- P&IDs
- Piping Isometrics
- GA Drawings
- Equipment Layouts
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimation tools.
