Key Responsibilities:Design welding fixtures, tooling, and robotic cell layouts for automated welding systems. Create detailed part and assembly drawings, mechanical BOMs, and layouts in SolidWorks, applying GD&T as necessary. Conduct structural validation using SolidWorks Simulation (FEA) to support design choices. Design and integrate pneumatic and low-voltage electrical subsystems within mechanical assemblies. Build and validate designs through hands-on prototyping at our manufacturing facility. Assist with manufacturing processes, including machine shop work and assembly as required. Support builds, kitting, and installations while resolving mechanical issues during deployment. Implement engineering change requests (ECRs) based on feedback from builds and field usage. Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to reduce BOM costs, enhance availability, and standardize components. Document lessons learned and integrate improvements into standards, libraries, and future designs. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a similar field.2 to 6+ years of experience in mechanical design for automation or robotic systems, preferably in robotic welding settings. Proficient in fixture design, robotic cell layouts, and product lifecycle management.
