Are You Ready to Challenge the Norms?Qualifications:Degree in Mechanical Building Services Engineering, ideally with Chartered Engineer status (or in progress). Skilled in Hevacomp design or similar design software. Experienced in IES Virtual Environment modeling software or equivalent tools. Proficient in NBS specification writing software. Capable of designing coordinated service runs and optimizing ceiling spaces with electrical colleagues and other disciplines. Familiarity with BIM Level 2 drawing standards for 3D modeling in Revit software. Knowledgeable in Water Regulations, Codes of Practice, and CIBSE Design Guides. Ability to intuitively approach utility loading estimates for accurate quotations. Solid understanding of quality assurance, safety, and environmental sustainability practices. Effective communication and teamwork skills.

As a member of our collaborative, multidisciplinary team of over 600 professionals across Building Engineering (MEP, Civil and Structural), Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Transportation, Water, Energy, and Environmental Consultancy, you will contribute to impactful projects.

Our Building Services division operates in diverse sectors, including Defence, Healthcare, Education, Science, Industrial, Commercial, and Client Advisory, both in the UK and internationally.

Your Role:

  • Develop comprehensive Mechanical building services engineering designs from initial concepts to construction documentation and site oversight.
  • Deliver projects adhering to specified design, timeline, and budget constraints.
  • Execute designs for a variety of building types, including educational institutions, healthcare facilities, offices, leisure centers, government infrastructures, and industrial sites.
  • Draft technical specifications, conduct design risk assessments, and compile detailed reports and drawings.
  • Act as AECOM's representative in client and contractor meetings.
  • Conduct site surveys and inspections as required.
  • Perform design quality evaluations and audits as necessary.
  • Maintain records and documentation to meet company standards.
  • Support staff development processes to elevate AECOM's standards, expertise, and reputation.
  • Encourage collaborative efforts across disciplines such as Architecture, Building Surveying, and Civil and Structural Engineering.
  • Stay informed on relevant legislation and engineering standards for electrical building services, ensuring compliance.
  • Contribute to the design change control process, providing cost and time estimates where applicable.
  • Align with quality, safety, and environmental initiatives, supporting AECOM's commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Assist in preparing fee estimates and proposals.
