About the Role

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to spearhead the mechanical design of Base-Power’s high-power residential inverter. In this pivotal role, you'll take ownership of key components, evaluate others, and navigate cross-functional design challenges as they arise.

Ideal candidates will possess a solid foundation in thermal dynamics and demonstrated experience in designing mechanical components for power converters, including solutions for heat transfer and packaging for magnetic components and capacitors.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the development of the highest quality high-power residential grid-tied inverter.

  • Manage the mechanical design of certain components while reviewing the designs of others.

  • Facilitate solutions to design challenges, acting as the cohesive force among designers.

What You'll Bring

  • Over 5 years of experience in mechanical design for grid-tied power converters or equivalent.

  • Exceptional understanding of thermal principles, including modeling techniques (1D, transient/steady state, FEA/CFD).

  • Proficiency in designing mechanical components for power electronics, such as magnetic and capacitor banks.

  • Experience in developing diverse heat transfer strategies.
