Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in supplier development or manufacturing engineering, particularly in optics or optomechanical systems. Strong understanding of mechanical design, assembly processes, and metrology. Proven track record of improving quality and cost metrics. Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to perform root cause analysis. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Familiarity with aerospace or telecommunications industries is a plus.

The Starlink Space Lasers team is at the forefront of developing, producing, and deploying advanced free-space optical communication systems. By harnessing laser communication technology, renowned for its exceptional data bandwidth and spatial efficiency, we require precise engineering of electro-optical and optomechanical systems. In this role, you will serve as a Supplier Development Engineer embedded within the Space Lasers team, providing critical support to our internal engineering and manufacturing divisions. Your expertise in optics and mechanics will directly influence SpaceX’s capacity to transmit high-rate data globally through laser communication systems.
