Educational/Experience Requirements:Completion of a two-year radiological technology program from an AMA accredited institution. Mammography registry certification is mandatory. Required Licenses/Certifications:Current registration in a specific imaging modality (ARRT or ARDMS). Valid license in the State of Maryland. Maintain current license and continuing medical education (CMEs). American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.

Luminis Health is hiring a Mammography Technologist to join its imaging teams in Odenton, Annapolis, and Bowie, MD. This position performs both screening and diagnostic mammography, following ACR and FDA safety and quality standards. The role centers on providing patient-focused care and adapting to each individual's needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire mammographic images, verifying demographic and technical information in line with ACR guidelines.
  • Collect patient mammography history and assess image quality.
  • Complete procedures efficiently while maintaining quality within established timeframes.
  • Monitor patient condition during biopsy procedures, provide first aid if necessary, assist physicians, and deliver post-biopsy care and follow-up education.
  • Maintain radiation protection for patients and participate in radiation safety training.
  • Perform quality assurance testing on mammography equipment and maintain required records.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to suggest improvements, report issues, and provide feedback to enhance patient care and technical standards.
  • Manage inventory in the assigned area and notify supervisors of shortages.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Universal Manager/Epic processes.
  • Handle additional tasks as assigned, including entering mammographic data, biopsy results, pending studies, and mammography letters.
  • Deliver strong customer service consistent with the ICARE service excellence framework.
