QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED is required. Preferred: Associate's degree in paralegal studies, a paralegal certificate, or a bachelor's degree. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. A minimum of 2 years' experience in an administrative assistant role, preferably within a law firm or corporate legal department, as a legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal. Experience in Personal Injury, Workers' Compensation, or Premises Liability is advantageous.

Summary

We are on the lookout for a dedicated Litigation Assistant to become a vital part of our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of our law firm, providing essential administrative support to our legal team. The ideal candidate is known for their strong work ethic, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute administrative tasks, including scheduling hearings, managing deadlines, and organizing case files.
  • Maintain and update pleadings and discovery indexes.
  • Organize various legal documents, including exhibits, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
  • Enhance administrative processes to streamline workflow.
  • Gather, analyze, and arrange evidence and legal documents for attorney review and case preparation.
  • Draft and proofread legal correspondence and documents, such as pleadings and contracts.
  • Conduct legal research to support report preparation, case files, and legal counsel.
  • Handle client billing by preparing and finalizing invoices, and addressing billing inquiries in coordination with the billing attorney.
  • Communicate with clients and witnesses to arrange meetings, interviews, and depositions.
  • Organize and maintain documents in both paper and electronic filing systems.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support business needs.
