Ideal Candidate Profile:Fully qualified lawyer in Bulgaria with a minimum of 5 years of practical experience in a global setting or reputable law firm. Experience level closely matching that of a senior lawyer or similar role. Fluency in both spoken and written English. Able to convert legal advice into actionable guidance for business teams. Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills across different groups. A team player with the ability to engage with colleagues at all levels. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Exemplary work ethic and integrity. Capable of working independently, managing moderate complexity projects, and contributing effectively to cross-functional and international teams.

We are excited to announce an opening for a Legal Counsel to join our EU Legal Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive legal support in employment law and commercial contracts, responding effectively to daily inquiries from our business and customers across the EU.
  • Establish trusted relationships as a key member of the Global Legal team, interacting with various internal stakeholders within SumUp's diverse tribes and teams.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of business contracts, including those with hardware and logistics providers, marketing agreements, and vendor contracts.
  • Offer legal guidance on employment and corporate law matters across Europe, while preparing internal labor documentation, policies, and procedures.
  • Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry practices to provide strategic legal advice on various projects.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in legal, finance, tax, compliance, and privacy, working closely with business teams.
  • Oversee contract management through the company’s tools and systems.
