Guidepost Montessori in Brooklyn, New York is hiring a Lead Preschool Teacher (Children’s House Guide) to support children ages 3–6 as they grow academically, socially, and emotionally. This position centers on building a welcoming, organized Montessori classroom where curiosity and independence are encouraged every day.

Role overview

The Lead Preschool Teacher observes each child closely, adapting lessons and guidance to match individual needs. The classroom is prepared with care to promote concentration, independence, and self-confidence. Children are supported as they learn practical skills and develop their sense of self.

Key responsibilities

  • Observe children to understand and support their physical, intellectual, and emotional development
  • Prepare and maintain an inviting, organized classroom environment
  • Encourage self-confidence and independence through daily routines and activities
  • Present individualized and small-group lessons in practical life, literacy, math, and other core subjects
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with children and their families
  • Communicate and collaborate with parents to support each child’s progress
  • Lead the classroom with warmth and professionalism
