Bachelor's Degree is required. Current Ohio Teaching License or willingness and ability to pursue certification by the start date is mandatory. At least 1 year of lead teaching experience or a degree in education is required. A strong belief that exceptional school leaders, staff, and teachers can achieve outstanding outcomes for all students. Demonstrated ability to persevere with optimism, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to learning and growth within a collaborative professional community. A dedication to going above and beyond to inspire students. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while driving towards clarity and solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Extreme flexibility, a strong work ethic, and an entrepreneurial spirit to handle high levels of responsibility and multiple priorities.

As a K-1 Building-Wide Support Teacher (Team Teacher) at KIPP Columbus, you will play a crucial role in fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment for our diverse student population. Your key responsibilities include:

Instructional Responsiveness & Content Knowledge

  • Internalizing and delivering high-quality, challenging, and engaging lesson plans tailored to meet the diverse needs of all learners, utilizing provided curriculum resources.
  • Collaborating with content and grade-level teams to cultivate an environment that promotes critical thinking and academic rigor.

Care of Students & Classroom Culture

  • Establishing a classroom culture that empowers students, affirms their identities, and fosters a sense of belonging for all.
  • Implementing school-wide and classroom management policies and practices effectively.
  • Creating a responsive and inclusive environment for parents and families.
  • Building and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships with students and families.

Team Support

  • Participating actively in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and team meetings.
  • Contributing to the daily operations of the school, including morning, lunch, and afternoon supervisory duties.
  • Embracing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Meeting professional obligations with consistency and timeliness.
