Qualifications:A technical degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field. Proficient in Python and experience with Pandas. Strong background in data analytics, including statistics, data visualization, and handling large datasets. A keen interest in financial systems, networks, and advanced technologies, coupled with a strong desire to learn new concepts swiftly. Analytical thinking capabilities, with a penchant for asking insightful questions and addressing unfamiliar challenges methodically. Excellent cross-functional communication skills and a collaborative spirit.

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is on the lookout for inquisitive and analytical engineers who thrive on working with data and tackling real-world technical challenges. Join our expanding Market Structure Analysis team in the role of Quantitative Latency Engineer, where you will leverage data-driven techniques to enhance trading technology and optimize real-time interactions with financial markets worldwide, including both traditional and cryptocurrency exchanges. No prior finance experience is required!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive significant enhancements to HRT’s low-latency trading systems.
  • Examine large datasets to gain insights into the behavior of complex systems and networks under real-world conditions, including exchange technology and the performance of HRT systems.
  • Create Python-based tools and scripts to effectively collect, clean, and visualize data in a clear and actionable format.
  • Design and execute experiments to assess the impact of changes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with HRT’s Algorithm Development, Trading Technology, and Business Development teams to discover, investigate, and implement improvements to HRT’s infrastructure.
  • Engage with exchanges globally to deepen your understanding of their technology and remain abreast of changes and enhancements.
