About the job
About Andromeda Cluster
Andromeda Cluster was founded by Nat Friedman and Daniel Gross to give early-stage startups access to advanced AI infrastructure that was once limited to hyperscalers. The company began with a single managed cluster, which quickly filled, and has since focused on building the systems, networking, and orchestration layers that make global AI resources more accessible.
Today, Andromeda works with leading AI labs, data centers, and cloud providers to deliver compute resources wherever and whenever they are needed. The platform routes training and inference workloads across a worldwide supply chain, aiming for greater flexibility and efficiency in the fast-growing AI sector.
Looking ahead, Andromeda’s goal is to create a liquidity layer for global AI computing. The team is expanding and seeking experts in AI infrastructure, research, and engineering to help shape this vision.
Role Overview: Strategic Compute Finance Lead
The Strategic Compute Finance Lead will guide financial strategy, modeling, and deal execution for Andromeda’s global compute portfolio. This position combines infrastructure finance with commercial execution, focusing on the frameworks needed to acquire, finance, and deploy GPU computing resources at scale.
Key areas include capital expenditure planning, scenario modeling, deal structuring, and building relationships with lenders. The role centers on financial modeling and deal execution, not trading or capital markets. Andromeda is looking for someone who enjoys building new processes from scratch, rather than stepping into established systems.
What You’ll Do
- Lead financial planning and performance management for the GPU cluster portfolio, including NPV/IRR modeling, scenario analysis, and ROI evaluation for procurement choices.
- Design and own the financial structure of major infrastructure deals, modeling time-value-of-money trade-offs for long-term contracts and decisions between building, leasing, or routing compute resources.
- Serve as the main contact for lenders and debt partners, handling covenant reporting, draw schedules, and ongoing lender communications.
Location
This role is open to candidates globally (remote) or based in San Francisco, CA.
